Ericsson 4 wins the 6th leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2008/2009 and extends their overall lead to 13 points.

Ericsson 4 breaks the 24 hour distance monohull speed record and wins the first leg of the 2008/2009 Volvo Ocean Race. The old record of 562.96 nm was held by ABN AMRO TWO, set at an average speed of 23.45 kts. E4 set the new 596.6 nm record at an average speed of 24.85 kts, 6% faster than the previous record.
